The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murnane throws a hook but Franks avoids it easily. Franks scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. A lull in the action here. Murnane taking a bit of punishment here - Franks scoring with strikes. Murnane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Murnane seems a little lost for a moment, as Franks dominates the positioning. Franks is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Murnane is trying to escape and Franks transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Murnane is forced to tap! Nice work there by Franks! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lino Franks!
