Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Borkowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borkowski looks to land a combination but Sullivan avoids it well.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown but Borkowski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sullivan doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Borkowski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Borkowski.

Borkowski manages to break the clinch.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Borkowski as he avoids it easily.
Igor Borkowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Sullivan.
Borkowski tries to clinch up.

Borkowski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Borkowski in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Borkowski content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Sullivan tries to improve position but can't.
Borkowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sullivan on the ground.
Sullivan wants to control but Borkowski postures up.
Sullivan tries to bench press Borkowski off him but Borkowski keeps the position.
Borkowski tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sullivan sneaks back into half guard.
Sullivan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Borkowski tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Borkowski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Sullivan is looking to control Borkowski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sullivan avoid being mounted?
Sullivan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Borkowski.
Sullivan is staying active underneath Borkowski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sullivan should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Borkowski missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sullivan is looking to control Borkowski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sullivan avoid being mounted?
Borkowski is trying to control the action in half guard but Sullivan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Igor Borkowski wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Sullivan gets caught napping as Borkowski dives in and scores a takedown. Sullivan manages to retain guard.
Borkowski trying to control but Sullivan is working from the bottom.
Borkowski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Borkowski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sullivan is trying to control the position but Borkowski postures up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sullivan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Borkowski tries to free his leg and advance position but Sullivan is retaining full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sullivan controls Borkowski momentarily but Borkowski frees himself.
Sullivan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sullivan is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Borkowski frees his head nicely. Oh but Sullivan has switched to an armbar! Borkowski is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Tim Sullivan!
A very excited looking Tim Sullivan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
