Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aiden August (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sawamura Kojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kojo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Whistler. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aiden August!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sawamura Kojo!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kojo gets the takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
August tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kojo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
August knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kojo on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kojo has control of an arm but August manages to advance to Kojo's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Will August go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Kojo manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. August is now in side control.
August wants to take a breather but Kojo manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for August.

August wants to pass the guard but Kojo is keeping the position.

Aiden August has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
August uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kojo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. August defends it nicely.
Kojo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with August but August pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kojo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

August closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - August lands in his opponent's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

August has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kojo after a bit of a struggle.

August tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kojo smiles and moves away.

Kojo can't find room to land a body shot as August controls the action.
August is trying to break free.
Kojo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kojo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Sawamura Kojo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
