Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Barrantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendoza comes to the cage accompanied by Back For More. Barrantes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pinchers - Bandelero. Juan Barrantes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zachary Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Barrantes!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrantes shoots in but no luck this time.
Barrantes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mendoza.
Barrantes slips under a jab from Mendoza.
Mendoza works the jab nicely.
Barrantes darts in looking for a takedown but Mendoza gets double underhooks and turns Barrantes into the cage.
Barrantes jumps guard but Mendoza stands there with Barrantes around his waist. Barrantes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Zachary Mendoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Barrantes.

Mendoza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zachary Mendoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barrantes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mendoza throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barrantes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Barrantes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mendoza keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barrantes takes one to the side of the head.
Barrantes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mendoza as he avoids it easily.
Mendoza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Barrantes.
Mendoza leaves Barrantes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barrantes misses with a takedown attempt - Mendoza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barrantes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Barrantes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Barrantes walks into a straight right hand from Mendoza.

Barrantes is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendoza cracks Barrantes with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Barrantes falls to his knees and Mendoza doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zachary Mendoza!
A less than humble Zachary Mendoza misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
