Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abraham Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva !
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
Colon blocks a head kick by Silva .
Silva looks winded!
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
A punch combination from Silva misses.

Colon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silva is trying to defend but Colon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Colon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Colon landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Colon is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Colon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Silva misses with a knee strike.

Colon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Colon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Colon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Colon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Colon.
Silva throws a lazy head kick
and Colon counters with a right hand to the body.
Colon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Colon.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A combination from Colon does no damage.

Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Colon misses with a few strikes there.

Colon gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Colon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Colon dives in and scores a takedown into Silva 's guard.
Colon postures up in Silva 's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.

Colon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Colon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Colon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Colon looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Colon blocks a head kick by Silva .
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Colon.

Colon gets a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Colon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Colon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva misses with a head kick.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Colon moves into the clinch.

Colon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Colon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Colon holds on and takes a little breather.
Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Colon is proving hard to escape from.
Colon is adopting a defensive guard.
Silva is breathing heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Abraham Colon just wasn't active enough.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Colon moves out of range easily.

Colon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Colon has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Silva tries a knee to the head but Colon blocks it.

Colon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Colon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Colon stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.
Abraham Colon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silva looking to throw knees to the head but Colon is blocking nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Colon has hold of one of Silva 's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Colon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Anderson Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Colon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Colon is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Silva is wriggling around trying to escape but Colon has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Silva taps out and Colon picks up the big win! Great work there by Colon!
