0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roberto Gracie! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kana throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Kana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kana clinches with his opponent.
Gracie is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kana is defending well. Kana manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Kana is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kana manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Kana's guard. Kana knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kana will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kana will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gracie wants to sweep here but Kana controlling him for the moment. Gracie keeps trying to improve his position. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kana defends it easily. Gracie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kana can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gracie wants to sweep but no luck. Kana has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from. Gracie has his feet on Kana's thighs here. He's pushed Kana off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Kana screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
