Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Lakanik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lakanik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Stratton! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lakanik takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Stratton drives through with a takedown into Lakanik's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Stratton engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lakanik tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stratton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Stratton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Eric Stratton wasn't active enough on the ground. Stratton tries to clinch and Lakanik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Stratton feints and as Lakanik raises his hands in defense, Stratton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lakanik looking for a sweep. Not yet Lakanik, not yet. Lakanik is pulling down on Stratton's head to control his posture. Lakanik keeping moving, preventing Stratton from controlling successfully. Stratton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakanik manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stratton manages to get himself to full guard.
Stratton is controlling Lakanik's posture. Lakanik is in close to Stratton's body, working some short punches and elbows. Lakanik lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lakanik throws an elbow that misses. Stratton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lakanik's guard. Nice move by Stratton! Lakanik managing to control the position. Stratton stays in close to Lakanik's body and controls the position. Stratton wants to control from the top but Lakanik keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stratton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eric Stratton. Good leg kick by Lakanik there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stratton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lakanik closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stratton quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lakanik trying to control from half guard but Stratton is working away. Stratton is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lakanik is staying active. Lakanik working over Stratton with some ground and pound. Stratton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Lakanik trying to mount his opponent but Stratton defends it. Lakanik wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stratton keeps working.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Stratton pushes Lakanik off looking to stand but Lakanik dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stratton is pressing down on Lakanik's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lakanik stopping the sweep attempt from Stratton. Stratton trying to control the position here. Lakanik is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at ~Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coache that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Lakanik is looking to work some ground and pound but Stratton has wrist control. Stratton controls Lakanik momentarily but Lakanik frees himself.

Stratton ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lakanik throws a leg kick which misses Stratton's front leg but catches the back leg as Stratton tries to avoid it. Lakanik lands with a slapping head kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stratton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lakanik.
Stratton tries to clinch but Lakanik moves out of range. Lakanik scores with a head kick. Stratton tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Stratton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lakanik did well to prevent Stratton getting side control. Lakanik slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lakanik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stratton controls the pace. Stratton wants to control from the top but Lakanik keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stratton won't allow Lakanik to sweep him here. Stratton tries to free his leg and advance position but Lakanik is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stratton looks to score with a jab to the body but Lakanik is just out of range. Lakanik misses with a kick to the body.
Lakanik throws a sloppy head kick and Stratton moves out of range easily. John Lakanik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stratton lands with an uppercut that bounces Lakanik off the cage and back into range. A slapping body kick lands there for Lakanik. Lakanik throws a head kick that misses. Lakanik smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Lakanik throws a low kick but it's checked well by Stratton. Stratton lands a nice shot to the body.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stratton. Lakanik tries to clinch up but Stratton circles away and keeps his distance. This has been an exciting period of action! An inside leg kick lands from Lakanik. Eric Stratton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lakanik uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stratton. Stratton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Stratton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Stratton is looking to take a break and control but Lakanik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lakanik is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lakanik lands a leg kick that knocks Stratton off balance momentarily. Lakanik lands with a nice body punch. Stratton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lakanik.

Stratton throws a shot from downtown. Lakanik moves away and avoids it. Stratton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lakanik manages to avoid it. Stratton scores with a nice strike. and Lakanik makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Stratton moves out of range as Lakanik throws a body kick.
Stratton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stratton. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stratton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lakanik's waist but Lakanik gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stratton off to one side. Stratton is breathing heavily. Lakanik tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Stratton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Stratton lunges at Lakanik with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lakanik's hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Eric Stratton has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A looping hook to the body misses from Lakanik. Stratton does a little dance to reset his feet. Stratton is still on wobbly legs! Can Lakanik finish him? Stratton on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lakanik. Lakanik obviously looking to wear him down.

Lakanik tries to close the distance and clinch but Stratton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Stratton moves into range and connects with a jab. Stratton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lakanik is fending him off so far but Stratton persists. Nope, Lakanik circles away and we're back to standing. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lakanik.

Lakanik is looking to wear down Stratton with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Stratton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakanik plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Lakanik uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Stratton. A lazy left from Lakanik finds it's target. Lakanik tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stratton defends well and Lakanik ends up having to push Stratton into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Stratton's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Lakanik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stratton throws a looping overhand right but Lakanik ducks down to avoid it. Stratton misses the shot to the body. Stratton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lakanik defends it nicely. Lakanik has managed to clinch.
Lakanik's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Stratton stuns Lakanik with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Stratton shoots in for a takedown but Lakanik shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. John Lakanik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Stratton. Stratton shoots and misses and Lakanik counters with a right hand to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lakanik moves into the clinch. Lakanik manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! John Lakanik showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lakanik, winning every round. Will the judges agree? In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... John Lakanik! A very excited looking John Lakanik rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
