And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Gomez Bollanos!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meikalainen connects with an inside leg kick.

A telegraphed right hand from Meikalainen misses the target.
Meikalainen lands a leg kick that knocks Bollanos off balance momentarily.
Bollanos looks winded!

We've been informed that Bollanos has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Meikalainen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bollanos.
Bollanos walks into a left hand.
It looks like Roberto Gomez Bollanos has been cut.
Meikalainen drops Bollanos with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bollanos looks back up at him and smiles so Meikalainen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Bollanos is rocked!
A big left from Bollanos misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Meikalainen.
Bollanos has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Meikalainen.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bollanos tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Meikalainen is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Bollanos flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Bollanos is out cold! Meikalainen holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matti Meikalainen!
