Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Poe Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fernando Poe Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Johnson! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poe Jr fails to land the takedown. Poe Jr fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Poe Jr avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Poe Jr slips a jab from Johnson. Poe Jr gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Poe Jr trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Johnson wants to stand but Poe Jr has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Poe Jr is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Poe Jr is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
Poe Jr throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Johnson postures up.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Poe Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Poe Jr working for a triangle but Johnson defends it easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Poe Jr wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson wants to stand but Poe Jr is controlling his posture from full guard. Johnson chips away with some ground and pound. Poe Jr working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Johnson has passed into half guard!
Poe Jr is breathing heavily. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura but Poe Jr is defending well.
Johnson is pressing down on Poe Jr's thigh, looking to free his foot. Poe Jr is holding on for now. Johnson is keen to just control but Poe Jr is a slippery customer. Johnson wants to stand but Poe Jr has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Johnson slips a nice elbow through Poe Jr's hands, connecting with Poe Jr's forehead. Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Poe Jr is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard. Poe Jr gets back to full guard.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Poe Jr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Poe Jr! Poe Jr content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poe Jr wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Poe Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Poe Jr scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poe Jr distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Poe Jr passes easily into side control. Nice work. Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Poe Jr asserts his dominance and retains side control. Johnson is trying to improve his position. Poe Jr trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Poe Jr advances nicely into full mount. Poe Jr dominating with strikes here. Poe Jr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Poe Jr has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Johnson is forced to tap!
