2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dawid Roznicz! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Roznicz does no damage. Roznicz swinging wildly here.
Roznicz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Obasi. A combination from Obasi does no damage. Roznicz displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Obasi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Roznicz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Obasi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Roznicz. Obasi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Roznicz has hold of Obasi's hands but Obasi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roznicz is staying active underneath Obasi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
