Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Holloza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unigu Rege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddie Holloza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Unigu Rege!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holloza wants to clinch.
Rege darts in looking for a takedown but Holloza gets double underhooks and turns Rege into the cage.
Rege tries to pull guard but Holloza holds him up against the cage and eventually Rege drops back down to his feet.
Holloza lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Rege ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rege no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Holloza postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rege is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holloza is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rege is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Holloza throws a strike but Rege rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Holloza wants to sweep here but Rege controlling him for the moment.

Rege is looking to work some ground and pound but Holloza has wrist control.
Holloza keeping moving, preventing Rege from controlling successfully.
Holloza might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Holloza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rege controls the pace.
Rege is pushing down on Holloza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Holloza is fighting to maintain full guard but Rege has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rege looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rege tries to pass to full mount but Holloza defends it.

Rege wants to get back to his feet.
Holloza tries to get to full guard but Rege has control of the leg.
Holloza is refusing to be controlled, as Rege sits in half guard.
Rege stalling.
Holloza has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Unigu Rege was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Holloza has Rege up against the cage in a clinch.
Rege wants to break free but Holloza has control.
Rege tries to break free but Holloza pushes him back against the cage.

Rege decides to pull guard.
Holloza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rege is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rege is keen to just control but Holloza is a slippery customer.
Holloza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rege is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rege is working for a kimura but Holloza is defending it quite comfortably.

Holloza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holloza.
Holloza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rege is one step ahead there.
Rege wants to stand but Holloza is controlling his posture from full guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rege working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rege dives in for a single leg takedown but Holloza sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rege avoids the elbow strike from Holloza, against the cage.
Rege tries to pull guard but Holloza holds him up against the cage and eventually Rege drops back down to his feet.

Freddie Holloza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unigu Rege.

Horrible takedown by Rege or perhaps it was just good defense by Holloza which made him look bad.
Rege shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Holloza sprawls well. Holloza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rege gets slowly back to his feet.

Rege digs a right hand underneath Holloza's ribcage. Holloza let out a lung full of air as it connected.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holloza creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Rege has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Holloza is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Holloza throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rege blocks it with crossed arms.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rege is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Still in half guard, Rege seems content to control.
Rege working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rege wants to lay and pray for a moment but Holloza keeps working.

Holloza wants to control the action here but instead Rege manages to pass to full mount!

Rege prevents Holloza from getting the reversal.
Rege tries to control but Holloza wriggling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Unigu Rege has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rege lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Unigu Rege.
I think Rege has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
