A fine choice. Kumar has chosen Chris Warren and J Johnston - Make Some Noise as his entrance music. Gideon Kumar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sum Gai's chin.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gai slaps away a takedown attempt from Kumar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kumar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gai is trying to defend but Kumar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kumar tries to advance to mount but Gai instead regains half guard.
Kumar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gai is just riding it out for now. Kumar eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sum Gai tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
