PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bam Margera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gomer Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Margera comes into the arena with Clutch - The Regulator blaring out of the sound system. Jacobs has chosen Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Gomer Jacobs enters the cage!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bam Margera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gomer Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Margera throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jacobs has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Margera is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jacobs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Margera's waist but Margera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jacobs off to one side.
Margera has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Margera with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Margera looks to land a body kick but Jacobs moved away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Margera. Jacobs does a little dance to reset his feet.
No luck for Jacobs with that takedown attempt.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown but Margera shows good takedown defense.
Bam Margera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gomer Jacobs.
Margera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Margera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Margera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Margera wants it to stay on the feet.

Margera forces Jacobs back against the cage and clinches.
Margera lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Margera lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Margera.
Margera unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Margera lands a body shot in the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Margera misses with a body punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jacobs wants to take the fight to the mat but Margera manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jacobs blocks a body shot from Margera.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Margera creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jacobs tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Margera smiles and moves away.
Jacobs with a poor takedown
and Margera counters with a good low kick that Jacobs was not able to check.
Margera cracks a nice hook into Jacobs's ribs.
Gomer Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jacobs takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Gomer Jacobs has been cut.

Margera drops Jacobs with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Jacobs looks back up at him and smiles so Margera waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Jacobs is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Margera scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Jacobs is still on wobbly legs! Can Margera finish him?
Jacobs has a takedown stuffed.
Jacobs is trying desperately to land a takedown but Margera is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jacobs.
Jacobs looks winded!
Jacobs walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Jacobs limp body while Margera jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

An out of breath Bam Margera thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
