Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Owen Xenon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Xenon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Xenon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Xenon fakes the leg kick and cracks Smith in the body.
A head kick by Xenon misses
and Smith counters by moving into the clinch.
Smith breaks the clinch.
Smith takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Xenon tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Xenon but Xenon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Xenon fails with an attempt to clinch.

Xenon clinches up against the cage.
Xenon has Smith pressed against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Xenon slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Xenon lands a nice looking body kick.
Xenon tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Xenon pushes Smith away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smith gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Xenon is looking to reverse the position.
Xenon is breathing heavily.
Xenon bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Xenon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Xenon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Xenon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith stands up and beckons Xenon to his feet.
Smith has closed the distance and engaged Xenon in a clinch.
Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Smith tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Xenon is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control.
Xenon stands up and waves to Smith to follow him.

Smith blocks a head kick by Xenon.
Xenon takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Xenon takes the fight into the clinch.
Xenon tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Smith's elbow.
Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Smith breaks the clinch.
Xenon gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Xenon manages to retain guard.
Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Smith scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smith stands up and waves to Xenon to follow him.
Xenon is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Xenon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Smith drives through and clinches with Xenon against the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Xenon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Smith is trying to drag Xenon to the mat but Xenon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Smith breaks from the clinch.
Xenon tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt
and Xenon counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Smith is lucky that one didn't land flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith has his foot on Xenon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Xenon works his way back into a safe position though.

Xenon tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Smith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Xenon as he jumps to the side.
Xenon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith.
Alex Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Owen Xenon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Alex Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Owen Xenon.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
