Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Qing Nan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staal is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by We built this city. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Qing Nan Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Staal! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Lee. That's going to slow Staal down. Lee is looking to score with low kicks. Staal fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Lee checks it well. Staal throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lee thows a left - swing and a miss! Lee fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Staal is out of range. Lee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like John Staal has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Staal keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Lee blocks the body kick.
Lee misses with a straight right. Lee seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. A good leg kick by Staal. Staal finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lee misses with a looping right. Staal connects with an inside leg kick. Staal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Staal dodges the punch combination from Lee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Qing Nan Lee has been cut. Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Staal.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Good exchange - Staal coming out on top. Staal jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lee keeps the fight on the outside. Nice defenses there by Staal. Staal keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee missing with a left hand there. Staal was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice body kick from Staal. Staal is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Staal swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lee counters with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staal rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage. Staal leaning against his opponent.
The crowd are getting on Staal's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Staal lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lee backwards. Lee tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Lee working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Staal's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Lee blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Lee tries to stall but Staal uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Staal is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Staal has Lee pushed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Staal lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lee backwards. Staal swings wildly with an uppercut but Lee uses good head movement to avoid it. Lee misses with a body punch.
Lee is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Staal is defending well for now. A short right from Lee on the inside. Staal tries to stall but Lee uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Lee trying to control the position but instead, Staal has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lee into the cage. Lee lands a body punch. Staal missing with knees to the body.

Lee working some nice short punches in the clinch. Lee misses with a knee to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lee tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Staal avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Staal tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Staal is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Staal with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A battle for position here, against the cage. The referee calls for Staal to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Staal dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A left and a right from Staal both land. Nice combination. Lee misses with a double jab
and Staal counters with a straight punch to the midsection. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Staal. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Staal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Staal. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Staal lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Qing Nan Lee's cut is getting worse. Lee ducks under a wild hook from Staal. Staal on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Lee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Qing Nan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee misses with a straight left. Staal throws a leg kick that misses. Staal tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee misses with an uppercut. Lee misses with a double jab
and Staal counters with a straight right hand.
Qing Nan Lee's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Lee throws an overhand right that lands on Staal's shoulder, as Staal tries to avoid the shot. A slapping leg kick lands for Staal.
Lee misses with a looping right. Lee swings for the body but Staal moves out of range.
Lee looks to throw the jab but Staal is out of range. Lee blocks the body kick.
Lee connects with a body shot that sends Staal's belly button to the back. Staal scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lee doesn't seem bothered though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lee misses with an uppercut. Staal saw that one coming. Staal slips under a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staal throws a head kick that misses. A slapping body kick lands there for Staal. John Staal seems to be getting the better of the standup. Lee looks to land a left hand but Staal moved out of range nicely. Both fighters circling a little - Staal finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Staal lands a jab to the nose.
Jeez, Qing Nan Lee's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. A shot to the liver by Staal. Beautiful body shot. Lee on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Staal. Staal obviously looking to wear him down.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Staal buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Staal delivers a nice body kick. Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Staal. Staal gets slowly back to his feet. Staal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Lee as Staal shoots in. Qing Nan Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Staal. Staal thumps Lee with a low kick. Lee throws a front kick aimed at Staal's knee but Staal avoids it well. Staal cracks Lee with a good jab. Staal lands with a right hand.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Qing Nan Lee's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Staal! Our winner, John Staal, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
