The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jimmy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jimmy lands in his opponent's guard.
Jimmy wants to stand but Holmes is controlling his posture from full guard.

Holmes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jimmy postures up in Holmes's guard and throws a big left but Holmes blocks it.

Holmes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jimmy is aware though and is defending well.
Jimmy wants to pass the guard but Holmes is keeping the position.
Holmes wants to sweep here but Jimmy controlling him for the moment.

Jimmy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Holmes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jimmy has managed to get both his arms back between Holmes's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holmes has his foot on Jimmy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jimmy works his way back into a safe position though.
Jimmy wants to control from the top but Holmes keeps moving.
Jimmy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holmes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Holmes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jimmy defends well.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jimmy Jimmy.
