Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Greg Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kriss Windman! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Windman has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Johnson is trying to push Windman away but Windman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Windman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Windman's waist but Windman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. Windman misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Clean and Green in the buildup to the fight. Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Windman. Windman gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Windman. Greg Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Windman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Windman manages to end up in side control. Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position. Windman sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Johnson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Windman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Greg Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Windman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Windman decides to pull guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Windman looking to control.

Windman is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Johnson is staying active. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Windman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Kriss Windman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Windman. Windman maintains the clinch. Windman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Windman. Windman shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Windman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
