The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gevorgyan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Captain Spiced seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gevorgyan walks into a stiff left hand from Spiced.

It looks like Arakel Gevorgyan has been cut.
Spiced feints a jab promting Gevorgyan to slip. Spiced then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gevorgyan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Spiced closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gevorgyan quickly recovers to half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gevorgyan is controlling Spiced's trapped leg to prevent Spiced from advancing to side control.
Gevorgyan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Spiced scores with a couple of nice shots.
Spiced missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Spiced tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Spiced has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Gevorgyan works to full guard.

Spiced wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gevorgyan's closed guard. He's half up but Gevorgyan has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gevorgyan pivots and extends the arm, Spiced falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gevorgyan! Well done that man!
