Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ehud Barak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Pervis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pervis has chosen Mistah F.A.B. - N.E.W. Oakland as his entrance music. Ehud Barak has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ehud Barak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nelson Pervis!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barak blocks a head kick by Pervis.
Pervis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barak shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice takedown defense from Pervis. No joy for Barak on that attempt.
Pervis scores with a hook.
Barak moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pervis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Barak is able to avoid easily.
Pervis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Barak closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pervis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Barak is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pervis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pervis misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Barak really is a fat lump.
Pervis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pervis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pervis is trying to escape the mount.
Pervis tries to hold on but Barak pushes him away.

Pervis defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Barak.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Pervis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pervis has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pervis tries to escape the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pervis breaks Barak's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Barak looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pervis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Barak wants to sweep but no luck.
Pervis throws a big right hand that misses.
Pervis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pervis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pervis's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Pervis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Barak really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Barak is pulling down on Pervis's head to control his posture.
My spies in Clean and Green inform me that Pervis has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Pervis is working Barak over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Pervis wants to control from the top but Barak keeps moving.

Pervis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pervis has managed to get both his arms back between Barak's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pervis is in close to Barak's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Barak definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Barak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pervis is aware though and is defending well.

Barak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pervis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Barak has his foot on Pervis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pervis works his way back into a safe position though.

Pervis stands up over Barak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Barak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pervis lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Barak had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pervis defends it easily.

Pervis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ehud Barak will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pervis lands a hook that stumbles Barak back into the cage. Pervis follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Barak to the canvas! Pervis pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Barak has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Nelson Pervis!
Nelson Pervis tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
