Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herb Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Entoni Shmetis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Entoni Shmetis!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dean checks a leg kick.
Entoni Shmetis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dean throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dean closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shmetis quickly recovers to half guard.

Dean is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are battling for position here. Shmetis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Dean tries to free his leg and advance position but Shmetis is retaining full guard.
Shmetis wants to sweep but no luck.
Shmetis pulls Dean in close to prevent any damage.
Shmetis keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully.
Shmetis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Dean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dean feints a jab promting Shmetis to slip. Dean then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shmetis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Dean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shmetis throws a right hand that Dean ducks under and follows up with a left that Dean also avoids with ease.

Dean fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shmetis on the side of the head.

Shmetis is keen to just control but Dean is a slippery customer.

Dean shoots in looking for a takedown but Shmetis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dean's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shmetis enables Dean to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shmetis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
