Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Jernigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solomon Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Jernigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Solomon Frost!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost connects with a solid leg kick.

Jernigan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sloppy strikes there by Jernigan.
Frost is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jernigan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Jernigan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jernigan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

I really don't envy Frost right now.

Frost tries to escape but Jernigan has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

You can see the frustration on Frost's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Jernigan is not going to allow Frost to sit and survive in this position.
I would not like to be Frost right now.

Jernigan has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Frost's body.

Jernigan controlling well, preventing Frost from escaping the position.
Frost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jernigan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jernigan just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Frost just trying to survive but Jernigan is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jernigan moves out of range of the body kick.
Jernigan just misses with a punch to the body.
Frost tries a low kick but Jernigan avoids it.

Jernigan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Frost's guard.
Frost is trying to control the position but Jernigan postures up.

We're going to have a standup here because Tim Jernigan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Jernigan counters by moving into the clinch.
Frost is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jernigan is keeping busy.

Jernigan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jernigan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jernigan has a closed guard, preventing Frost from standing up.
Frost wants to stand and escape but instead Jernigan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Tim Jernigan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Frost goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Jernigan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Frost looking to control.
Frost can't keep his opponent in guard - Jernigan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frost looks like he's trying to stand up.
Frost is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jernigan jumps into side control!

Jernigan decides to stand back up. Jernigan steps back and let's Frost get back to his feet.
Frost throws a low kick, looking for Jernigan's leg but Jernigan calmly moves out of range.

Jernigan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Frost tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jernigan is in Frost's guard.
Frost wants to sweep but no luck.
Frost controls Jernigan momentarily but Jernigan frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frost might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jernigan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Jernigan controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jernigan won't allow Frost to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jernigan shoots in for a takedown but Frost shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Jernigan counters by clinching up.
Jernigan fails to pull guard.
Frost gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jernigan.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Jernigan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jernigan content to slow the pace in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Jernigan dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Frost passes Jernigan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Frost is just content to waste time from the top position. Jernigan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Frost must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jernigan wants to sweep but no luck.

Frost wanted to stand there but Jernigan had control of the position.

Jernigan has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Frost has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Jernigan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Frost smiles and moves away.

The referee calls for Frost to work.

Jernigan breaks the clinch.
Frost thows a body kick. Jernigan tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Frost is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jernigan is keeping busy.

Jernigan has hold of one of Frost's legs. Frost is fighting the takedown attempt but Jernigan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Frost feints and then cracks Jernigan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jernigan down.

Jernigan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Frost is trying to control but Jernigan passes into side control!

Jernigan takes a little break here. Frost wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Tim Jernigan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jernigan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Frost to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Jernigan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jernigan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
