Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Norton!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton misses with an uppercut. Fenix saw that one coming.
Norton thuds his right hand into Fenix's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Marcus Fenix has been cut.
Fenix scoring well with a low kick there.
Norton lands with a cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fenix throws a big shot that misses.
Norton looks to land a right hand but Fenix moved out of range.
Fenix uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Norton.
Norton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A lazy left from Fenix finds it's target.
Fenix moves into the clinch successfully.
Norton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fenix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Norton stuffs the takedown.
Fenix misses with a takedown attempt
and Fenix takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Fenix. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Norton swings for the body but Fenix moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fenix looks for the body kick but Norton saw that one coming.
Nice body punch from Norton.
Fenix is breathing heavily.
Norton drops Fenix with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fenix looks back up at him and smiles so Norton waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Norton has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Norton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Norton cracks Fenix with a hook to the temple - Fenix is on wobbly legs here! Norton swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Fenix falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Norton wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Scott Norton!
