Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jannis Arvanitidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

23 - 15 - 4, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Spiller! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiller throws a head kick that misses. Spiller scores with a jab to the jaw. Arvanitidis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A leg kick checked by Arvanitidis. Spiller misses with a jab to the body
and Arvanitidis counters with a nice uppercut. Spiller ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Spiller connects with a solid leg kick. Spiller loads up on a big right hand but Arvanitidis slips the punch. Spiller misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arvanitidis.
Spiller wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Arvanitidis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Spiller has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Spiller cracks a nice hook into Arvanitidis's ribs. Spiller throws a good cross that connects.

Oh Arvanitidis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Spiller is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Spiller tries to close the distance and clinch but Arvanitidis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Arvanitidis seems to have got his legs back now. Spiller fails to land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spiller throws a sloppy head kick and Arvanitidis moves out of range easily. Brandon Spiller seems to be getting the better of the standup. Spiller misses with a two punch combination.

Jannis Arvanitidis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spiller pushes Arvanitidis up against the cage in a clinch. Arvanitidis slowing the pace effectively. Arvanitidis has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Spiller is trying to keep an underhook but Arvanitidis manages to get the takedown into half guard. Spiller wants to control but Arvanitidis is keeping busy.

Arvanitidis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spiller is just riding it out for now. Arvanitidis eventually gives up the hold. Spiller wants to get back to his feet. Spiller wants to control but Arvanitidis is keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Arvanitidis is working for a kimura but Spiller is defending it quite comfortably.

A jab from Spiller finds it's way through Arvanitidis's defenses. Spiller tries to clinch up but Arvanitidis circles away and keeps his distance. Spiller tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Arvanitidis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spiller cracks Arvanitidis with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Arvanitidis counters with a three punch combo that has Spiller backing up. Spiller nods at Arvanitidis to acknowledge the strikes. Spiller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Arvanitidis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spiller throws a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiller scores with a nice head shot. Spiller closes the distance and clinches. Arvanitidis prevents a body shot from Spiller. Arvanitidis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spiller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Arvanitidis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Arvanitidis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Spiller clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arvanitidis is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Spiller has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Spiller showing good submission defense here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spiller breaks Arvanitidis's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jannis Arvanitidis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Spiller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A shot to the body from Spiller misses letting Arvanitidis counter with a right hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Arvanitidis checks the leg kick nicely there.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brandon Spiller. I've got Spiller winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Brandon Spiller decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
