PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonald Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Hell's Bells as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Tony Brown has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bonald Scott!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a wild body shot.
Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scott throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Scott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Scott showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brown tries to get to full guard but Scott has control of the leg.
Brown regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Scott.
Scott has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Scott misses with a head shot. Brown uses the momentum to regain guard.
Scott wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Still in half guard, Brown seems content to control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Brown manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Brown makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Still in the clinch, Brown scores with a nice short uppercut.
The referee is keeping an eye on Brown - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Scott gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scott is working for a kimura but Brown is defending it quite comfortably.

Scott is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Brown still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Brown has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Bonald Scott has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Brown will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've been told by Brown's head coaches at Jef Li's MMA(13 coaches, 49 cap) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Scott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Scott shoots in looking for a takedown but Brown manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Scott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brown lands with a hook. Scott tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Scott swings for the body but Brown moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Brown enables Scott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brown manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Scott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Scott has knee on belly momentarily but Brown bucks him off and regains half guard.

Scott seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown wants to control but Scott is keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bonald Scott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scott has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
