Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrin Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrin Hoffman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Rice! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rice pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rice is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nice takedown defense from Hoffman. No joy for Rice on that attempt. Nice sprawl there from Hoffman as Rice shoots in. Rice with a body punch. A glancing blow. Rice rushes Hoffman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rice misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hoffman.
Hoffman trying to stall but Rice improves his position.
Hoffman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rice just stands there and leans against the cage. Rice tightens his grip and picks Hoffman up, before dumping him to the ground. Hoffman manages to land in guard. Hoffman is trying to keep Rice in close.
Hoffman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rice controls the pace. Hoffman looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice prevents Hoffman from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rice postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darrin Hoffman. Rice throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Hoffman counters with a flying knee. Nice. Rice closes the distance and clinches up with Hoffman, looking for a takedown. Rice pushes Hoffman against the cage but Hoffman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Darrin Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Rice. Rice tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoffman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rice somewhat. Hoffman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rice is trying to break the clinch but Hoffman is controlling him. Hoffman tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Hoffman is trying to maintain a safe position but Rice gets an underhook and turns Hoffman into the cage. Hoffman working hard to break the clinch. The referee calls for Hoffman to work.
Hoffman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rice smiles and moves away.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Hoffman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rice pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoffman swats away the attempt to clinch by Rice. Hoffman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rice swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hoffman circles away from the clinch attempt and Hoffman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rice trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rice tries to roll over but Hoffman keeps him under control. Rice makes his way to full guard, as Hoffman worked for a kimura.
Hoffman stands up over Rice, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hoffman wants to control from the top but Rice keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rice seems keen to control Hoffman's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Darrin Hoffman will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hoffman slaps away a takedown attempt from Rice, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hoffman doesn't manage to clinch there - Rice circles away.
Rice lands with a right hand. Rice closes the distance looking to clinch so Hoffman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hoffman throws a big elbow that misses. Rice is striking off his back. Hoffman thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Rice is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hoffman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hoffman's back! Hoffman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rice's guard. Nice work there by Hoffman.
Hoffman trying to control the position from guard on top but Rice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hoffman has gone for a leg lock! Rice slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hoffman's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rice advances position into side control! Rice working away. Hoffman is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoffman struggling a bit here. Rice taking a breather here. Hoffman is not content to let Rice control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoffman wants to control but Rice postures up. Rice controlling the position from side mount. Darrin Hoffman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rex Rice. Oooooh!!! Rice has knocked Hoffman down with a huge combo! Rice steps away and waves a wobbly Hoffman back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Hoffman is rocked!
It looks like Darrin Hoffman has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rice closes the distance and clinches. Oh Hoffman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rice pulls Hoffman into guard.
Rice is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rice not doing much here.
Rice lands a big elbow - Hoffman is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Rice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rex Rice!
