Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ralph Soto! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matt Fondelier! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soto wants to clinch and Fondelier counters with a nice uppercut. Fondelier throws a series of punches but Soto avoids them all with ease. Soto tries to clinch but Fondelier is having none of it. Fondelier keeps the fight on the outside. Soto wants to clinch. Fondelier lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Ralph Soto has been cut. Soto closes the distance and clinches. Nice elbow from Soto.
It looks like Matt Fondelier has been cut. Fondelier has a couple of punches blocked by Soto.
Soto looks to throw an elbow but misses. Fondelier takes a knee to the side of the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fondelier blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto lands an elbow that stopped Fondelier in his tracks for a moment. Fondelier's coach down at Basics -LOD- was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fondelier's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A nice glancing elbow lands by Soto. A head punch blocked on the inside by Soto. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Soto trying to land knees to the body.

Fondelier lands with a light punch inside. Soto comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Fondelier tries to work over Soto's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Soto creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Soto looks to throw an elbow but misses. Fondelier blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A head punch blocked on the inside by Soto. Fondelier is looking to break free of the clinch but Soto has double underhooks. Fondelier takes an elbow to the temple. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Fondelier just misses with a elbow thrown towards Soto's brow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fondelier tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Fondelier is looking to break free of the clinch but Soto has double underhooks. A nice right hand lands inside from Fondelier. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fondelier. This has been an exciting period of action! Fondelier scores with a nice hook to the head. Soto lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Fondelier misses with a short punch on the inside. Soto lands an elbow inside.
That has opened up Matt Fondelier's cut even more. Clinched against the cage, Soto lands a big elbow that drops Fondelier! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Fondelier is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ralph Soto! Ralph Soto retains his heavyweight title! As Ralph Soto got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I want to thanks everyone. I come put show for my fans...god bless. Matt Fondelier very tough & strong......someone want the belt, I'm stay champion long time!!'.
