The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ai wants it to stay on the feet.
Congo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ai to the mat! Ai manages to get full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Congo working some strikes from top position.
Ai looking for a sweep. Not yet Ai, not yet.
Congo wanted to stand there but Ai had control of the position.
Ai looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Congo puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ai regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ai wants to control the position but Congo says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Congo wants to get back to his feet.

Ai with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Congo is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ai is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Congo has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ai with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ai looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ai is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Congo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ai fails to take his opponent's back.
Congo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ai swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
