Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andy Lobas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Max Stanley! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lobas. Stanley throws a sloppy head kick and Lobas moves out of range easily. Stanley throws a head kick that misses. Stanley throws a sloppy head kick and Lobas moves out of range easily. Lobas lands a two punch combo.
Max Stanley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stanley closes the distance and clinches up with Lobas, looking for a takedown. Stanley pushes Lobas against the cage but Lobas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lobas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lobas. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lobas gets a clinch. Stanley breaks the clinch.
Lobas lands a jab to Stanley's midsection. Stanley looks winded! Lobas misses with a takedown attempt - Stanley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lobas moves into the clinch. Stanley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lobas wants to get back to striking at distance but Stanley won't allow it.
Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lobas wants to clinch up but Stanley keeps it at a distance. Stanley misses with a combination
and Lobas counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Lobas throws a left that rocks Stanley and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Lobas dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Stanley regain composure!
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Lobas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanley keeps working. Lobas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lobas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stanley is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Lobas tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Lobas wants to control but Stanley is keeping him busy. Lobas in side control, throwing shots but Stanley defends. Stanley misses with a strike from the bottom. Stanley throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Stanley sneaks back into half guard. Stanley blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lobas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanley gets back to full guard.
Stanley looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lobas is defending well. Stanley quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lobas has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stanley celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
