Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Berry White!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Lock.
Lock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
White will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lock paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lock throws a chopping leg kick but White manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
White fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lock avoids it really well and circles away.
Lock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but White circles away quickly and effectively.
Lock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lock connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
White fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lock to the ground. White is now in Lock's guard.
White trying to control but Lock is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lock is working an open guard so White takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Lock ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lock moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
John Lock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lock bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps White's head backwards.
White is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lock lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens White up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Lock from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw White's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Lock!
