Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Sparks!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seven shoots in for a takedown but Sparks shows good takedown defense.
Seven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sparks tries to avoid it but Seven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sparks to the ground. Sparks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sparks throws a lazy right hand but Seven sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sparks.
Seven has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sparks takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Seven walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Seven fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sparks is out of range.
Seven doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sparks counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Seven. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sparks misses with a hook to the ribs.
Seven tightens his grip and picks Sparks up, before dumping him to the ground. Sparks manages to land in guard.
Sparks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Seven is one step ahead there.
Sparks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Seven doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Seven manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sparks wants to sweep here but Seven controlling him for the moment.
Sparks is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sparks kicks Seven off and gets to his feet.

and Sparks counters with a solid body kick.

Seven wants to take the fight to the mat but Sparks manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Sparks lands with a right to the head.
Nice body punch from Sparks - that landed with a thud.
Sparks gets underhooks to prevent Seven's takedown attempt.
Seven goes for a takedown attempt but Sparks pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Seven is breathing heavily.
Seven throws a chopping leg kick but Sparks manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Seven shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sparks counters with an inside leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sparks lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Patrick Seven has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sparks misses with a two punch combination.
Seven shoots and misses
and Sparks counters with a crisp one two that drops Seven! Sparks thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Seven to his feet! Seven is in big trouble!
Seven is rocked!
Crack! A monster head kick from Sparks and Seven falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Sparks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Darren Sparks!
