Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ada Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Stepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ada Reyes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steven Stepp!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepp gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


It looks like Steven Stepp has been cut.
Ada Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reyes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stepp ducks under a wild hook from Reyes.
Reyes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Stepp throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reyes was covering up waiting for the punch and Stepp finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stepp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stepp throws a big right hand that misses.
Reyes has Stepp pulled in close to control his posture.
Reyes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Reyes wants to sweep but no luck.
Stepp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Reyes has his feet on Stepp's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Stepp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Reyes tries to improve position but can't.
Stepp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stepp throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Stepp lands a nice forearm strike.
Reyes is looking to reverse the position.
Stepp connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Reyes some visible discomfort.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stepp working his ground and pound in the gym.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stepp tries to score with some ground and pound. Reyes controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Stepp cracks Reyes with a big right hand but Reyes just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Stepp tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Stepp is working Reyes over with some ground and pound from side control.


Reyes is rocked!
Stepp lands a strong strike to the head of Reyes. That's dazed him! Stepp looking to finish here. Reyes is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Stepp lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steven Stepp!
Steven Stepp is the new light heavyweight champion!
Steven Stepp spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
