Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Trager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Gibiatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trager comes into the arena with Run This Town blaring out of the sound system. Alex Trager has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Trager! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Gibiatti! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trager has his takedown stuffed and Gibiatti counters with a left to the body. Trager with a poor takedown and Gibiatti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Trager's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Trager trying to control the position.
Trager keeping moving, preventing Gibiatti from controlling successfully. Gibiatti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Trager manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gibiatti has Trager in his guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Gibiatti is looking for a sweep. Gibiatti is still trying to improve position. Trager swings around for an armbar but Gibiatti sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Trager's guard. Gibiatti trying to control the position from guard on top but Trager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gibiatti throwing strikes from guard but Trager blocks nicely. Trager wants to stand and escape but Gibiatti is having none of it. Gibiatti throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibiatti trying to control the position from guard on top but Trager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gibiatti is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Trager wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank Gibiatti hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gibiatti enables Trager to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gibiatti manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gibiatti controls Trager momentarily but Trager frees himself. Trager is pushing down on Gibiatti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gibiatti is fighting to maintain full guard but Trager has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibiatti is not content to let Trager control the position. Gibiatti is looking for a sweep. Trager is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gibiatti actively working from the bottom here. Trager wants to control but Gibiatti is keeping him busy. Gibiatti desperately trying to maintain half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Gibiatti manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gibiatti working a defensive guard here.

Trager passes easily into side control. Nice work. Trager is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gibiatti is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gibiatti is looking to regain half guard here but Trager keeps moving and retains side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trager wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gibiatti keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Gibiatti will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Trager takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Gibiatti tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Trager defends well and Gibiatti ends up having to push Trager into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gibiatti is pressed up against the cage. Trager has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gibiatti down to the mat. Gibiatti avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Gibiatti works the jab nicely. Trager misses with a takedown attempt and Gibiatti counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gibiatti. Gibiatti throws a big elbow that misses. Gibiatti trying to control but Trager is working from the bottom. Trager utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Trager controls Gibiatti momentarily but Gibiatti frees himself. Trager is trying to hold Gibiatti in close to prevent damage but Gibiatti has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibiatti prevents Trager from improving his position. Gibiatti lands with a punch from half guard. Trager pushes Gibiatti off looking to stand but Gibiatti dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Trager manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Trager is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gibiatti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Trager manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gibiatti has Trager in his guard. Gibiatti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trager can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trager tries to free his leg and advance position but Gibiatti is retaining full guard. Trager is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Trager got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gibiatti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trager has managed to get both his arms back between Gibiatti's legs - danger averted. Trager tries to free his leg and advance position but Gibiatti is retaining full guard. Gibiatti trying to keep a closed guard but Trager is proving a slippery customer.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gibiatti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trager gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibiatti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gibiatti wants to work for an arm triangle but Trager is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Trager wants to improve his position but Gibiatti is controlling well.

Gibiatti throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Trager manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trager misses with a takedown and Gibiatti counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Trager. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibiatti trying to control but Trager is working from the bottom. Frank Gibiatti has got the better of the ground game so far. Gibiatti might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Trager haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Gibiatti missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trager tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gibiatti wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Frank Gibiatti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Trager stacks Gibiatti on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Trager!

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Frank Gibiatti! Frank Gibiatti spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
