Trager comes into the arena with Run This Town blaring out of the sound system. Alex Trager has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trager has his takedown stuffed
and Gibiatti counters with a left to the body.

and Gibiatti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Trager's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank Gibiatti hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Gibiatti enables Trager to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gibiatti manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Trager takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gibiatti tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Trager defends well and Gibiatti ends up having to push Trager into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gibiatti is pressed up against the cage. Trager has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gibiatti down to the mat. Gibiatti avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Trager is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Trager got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gibiatti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trager has managed to get both his arms back between Gibiatti's legs - danger averted.

Gibiatti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trager gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gibiatti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gibiatti wants to work for an arm triangle but Trager is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Frank Gibiatti spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
