Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Ferguson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferguson tries to bum rush Shouse with a series of wild strikes but Shouse uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Shouse shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shouse showed some decent athleticism there. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Shouse is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ferguson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ferguson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Shouse has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ferguson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ferguson is on top in guard.
Ferguson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shouse is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shouse has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferguson working for a triangle but Shouse defends it easily.
Shouse decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferguson with a lazy takedown attempt and Shouse counters with a lovely straight right hand! Shouse has managed to clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shouse dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Ferguson wants a takedown.
Shouse has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ferguson is trying to keep an underhook but Shouse manages to get the takedown into half guard. Ferguson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shouse takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ferguson manages to get to full guard.
Ferguson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shouse controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Shouse would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Shouse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ferguson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shouse doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ferguson is tightening it up a little... Shouse has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Shouse reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Shouse taps out! Nice BJJ there by Ferguson!
