Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yari Darrah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Pops (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yari Darrah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Pops! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darrah scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Jason Pops has been cut. We've been told by Darrah's head coaches at Stark Slugger Society - NY that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A good leg kick by Darrah. Darrah lands a head shot. Pops fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Darrah sprawls well initially but Pops persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pops uses his free foot to push down on Darrah's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Darrah. Darrah wants to control but Pops is having none of it. Pops is working for a guillotine from mount but Darrah frees his head quite easily.
Pops wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Darrah is desperately trying to improve his position but Pops has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pops moves to his opponent's back but Darrah bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Pops. Pops had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Darrah defends it easily. Darrah will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Darrah wants to control from the top but Pops keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Darrah tries to stand but Pops is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pops wants to sweep but no luck. Pops avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Darrah has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Darrah trying to control the position from guard on top but Pops is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Yari Darrah wasn't doing enough on the ground. A looping hook to the body misses from Pops. Darrah does a little dance to reset his feet. Darrah throws a body punch but Pops moves out of range. Yari Darrah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Darrah misses with a series of wild punches.
Darrah throws a jab but it's blocked by Pops. Darrah misses with a body shot.
Yari Darrah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Darrah fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pops on the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pops takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Darrah avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pops showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Darrah.
Pops blocks a low kick nicely. Pops misses the jab. Darrah slips under a jab from Pops. Darrah lands a jab-cross combination. Pops throws a big shot that misses. Darrah lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That has opened up Jason Pops's cut even more. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Darrah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pops manages to avoid it. Nice straight punches there by Darrah. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Darrah. Darrah is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pops. Darrah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Darrah misses with a body shot.
Darrah throws a lazy right hand but Pops sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pops misses with a hook. Darrah throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Darrah slips a straight right by Pops. Pops swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darrah is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Darrah shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Darrah swings for the body but Pops moves out of range.
Darrah throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yari Darrah dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jason Pops's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Darrah throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. The fighters circling - Darrah throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pops manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Darrah on his heels. He'll look to pass Darrah's guard now, I'm sure. Darrah is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pops defends well. Darrah keeping moving, preventing Pops from controlling successfully. Darrah looking for a guillotine here but Pops defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pops advances to half guard. Pops works his way into side control. Pops moves into full mount! Darrah throwing hammer fists to the chest of Pops. What's that going to do exactly? Pops controlling his opponent. Pops trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pops is looking to work his way around to Darrah's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Pops working for a guillotine from mount but Darrah is in no mood to give up. Darrah wants to hold on but Pops pushes him away. Darrah regains half guard. Pops works his way into full mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pops goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Darrah is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pops is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pops looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Pops is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Darrah has managed to free his arm - good work. Pops seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Darrah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Darrah is trying to stand.
Pops is looking to advance position but Darrah won't allow it. Pops wants to control but Darrah is keeping him busy. Darrah is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pops controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Pops showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jason Pops's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pops is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Pops misses with a wild body shot. Darrah misses with a jab, cross combination.
A cross from Darrah lands. Darrah throws a shot from downtown. Pops moves away and avoids it. Darrah throws a low kick but Pops moves out of range easily. Darrah uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pops. Pops throws a lazy uppercut
and Darrah holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pops content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Darrah pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Darrah throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Darrah on the wrong end of a nice hook. Darrah lands an overhand right. Pops misses with a hook. Darrah ducked under it nicely. Pops misses the jab. Yari Darrah is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Darrah misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yari Darrah is winning the standup battle so far. Darrah throws a looping overhand right but Pops ducks down to avoid it. Darrah avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Darrah throws a body punch but Pops moves out of range. Darrah gets caught flat footed, as Pops shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pops works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pops is trying to control the action in half guard but Darrah is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Darrah actively working from the bottom here. Darrah tries to kick Pops off in order to stand up. Pops Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pops wants to control for a moment but Darrah uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Pops passes to side control. Pops is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Darrah has escaped the position, nice work there. Darrah is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pops's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pops seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Darrah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pops wants to pass to mount but Darrah is defending the position. Darrah is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pops pulls his head out easily. Pops looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Darrah is looking to improve his position.
Pops has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Darrah is squirming around, avoiding Pops's attempts to control the action. Pops is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Darrah has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Darrah! Pops looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pops has Darrah pulled in close to control his posture. Pops looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Pops comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pops has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
