Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Tim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Dantas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Tim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Dantas! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tim clinches. Tim has Dantas pressed against the cage.
Dantas is working for takedown but Tim is calmly controlling the position for now. Dantas trying to stall but Tim improves his position.
Dantas is looking for a takedown. Knees in the clinch landing for Tim.
A right handed body shot lands from Tim.
Dantas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. John Tim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Dantas. Dantas is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tim gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Tim manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dantas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tim controls Dantas momentarily but Dantas frees himself. Tim is really struggling to control Dantas but he's trying to hold on to the position. Tim is looking to stand up but Dantas isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up because John Tim just wasn't active enough. Dantas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tim tries to avoid it but Dantas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tim to the ground. Tim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tim has taken the fight to the clinch.

Dantas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dantas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Dantas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Tim wants to sweep but no luck. Tim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dantas on the ground. Dantas passes into half guard. Tim moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dantas tries for a takedown but Tim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tim lands a head kick!
Tim shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dantas napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dantas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dantas manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Dantas is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dantas is nestled in close to Tim, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dantas moves nicely into side control. Dantas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tim knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dantas has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dantas dominating with strikes here. Dantas raining down shots from the mount! Tim is looking to improve his position but Dantas isn't that keen on the idea. Dantas looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Dantas lands a heavy elbow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dantas controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Dantas dominated that round. That's time! Tim's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Dantas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tim is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dantas controls from within his opponent's guard. Tim keeping moving, preventing Dantas from controlling successfully. Dantas engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jose Dantas. Dantas gets caught flat footed, as Tim shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tim working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dantas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Tim is fighting to break Dantas's control of his arms but Dantas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Dantas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dantas cracks Tim with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dantas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dantas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dantas is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tim can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dantas content just to control the position here. A nice elbow there by Dantas. Tim keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dantas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Dantas with shots to the head and body - Tim looks very uncomfortable down there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dantas is landing with some decent strikes but Tim is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Dantas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tim manages to avoid the submission attempt. Tim wants to control but Dantas postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dantas is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tim will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Dantas works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Dantas landing strikes. Dantas scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Tim to see if he's OK. The referee asks Dantas politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dantas prefers to stall for the moment though. Dantas is chipping away with strikes.

Tim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dantas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Tim is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Dantas is working Tim over with some ground and pound from side control. Dantas taking a breather here. Dantas advances nicely into full mount. Dantas landing strikes from the mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dantas dominating with strikes here. Dantas has hold of Tim's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tim manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jose Dantas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Dantas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tim avoids it really well and circles away. Dantas closes the distance and clinches up with Tim, looking for a takedown. Dantas pushes Tim against the cage but Tim circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tim lands a high kick!
Tim tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dantas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dantas tries to sprawl but Tim drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tim is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dantas is just riding it out for now. Tim eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dantas is pressing down on Tim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dantas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dantas has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nice strikes from Dantas there. Dantas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Dantas cracks Tim with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
