Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edoardo Corradi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocco Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edoardo Corradi!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Best enables Corradi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Best manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Corradi stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Corradi clinches up with Best and pushes him back against the cage.

Best is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corradi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Best to the mat. Best regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Corradi advances position into side control!
Best tries to buck Corradi off but Corradi is having none of it.
Best throws a few strikes from the bottom but Corradi takes advantage and mounts!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Corradi unloads with some shots from mount but Best bucks and avoids them well.
Best holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Corradi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corradi is working for a guillotine from mount but Best frees his head quite easily.
Corradi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corradi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Corradi goes for an armbar but Best turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Best.
Corradi looking for a sweep. Not yet Corradi, not yet.
Best would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Corradi has his foot on Best's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Best works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Corradi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corradi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Best defends well.
Best seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Best prevents Corradi from getting back to his feet.
Best really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Corradi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Best will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Best is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rocco Best.

Corradi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Best's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Corradi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Best has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Corradi has passed into side control.

Best is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Corradi off and has taken his back!
Corradi trying to control the hands but Best won't let him.
Will Best go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Best trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Corradi doesn't escape.

Corradi keeping moving, preventing Best from controlling successfully.
Corradi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Best is one step ahead there.
Best trying to control the position from guard on top but Corradi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Best has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rocco Best has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Corradi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Corradi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Best keeps working.
Best manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Corradi wants to control but Best is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Corradi is not content to let Best control the position.

Best is looking to take a break and control but Corradi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Corradi tries to kick Best off but Best keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Corradi gets back to full guard.
Edoardo Corradi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Best wants to control from the top but Corradi keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rocco Best wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Corradi instigates a clinch.

Best is trying to push Corradi away but Corradi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Corradi successfully pulls guard.

Corradi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Best stacks Corradi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Best!
Best wants to lay and pray for a moment but Corradi keeps working.
Corradi is trying to control Best's posture but Best avoids it.
Best controlling from side mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Corradi is looking for a sweep.
Corradi is not content to let Best control the position.
Best is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Corradi's shoulder. That is not cool.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rocco Best just wasn't active enough.

Corradi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Best tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Corradi is in Best's guard.
Corradi is breathing heavily.
Corradi slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Best.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edoardo Corradi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Corradi rushes Best and presses him up against the cage.
Corradi struggles to land a body shot inside as Best controls his hands.

Best thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Corradi preventing the sweep.
Corradi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Best had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Corradi defends it easily.
Corradi trying to control but Best is working from the bottom.

Best looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Best utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Corradi prevents Best from getting back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Edoardo Corradi.
Corradi throws a head kick that misses.
Corradi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Corradi feints and as Best raises his hands in defense, Corradi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Corradi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Corradi pushes down on Best's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Best wants to stand back up but Corradi manages to pass into side control.
Corradi has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Best!
Rocco Best has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Edoardo Corradi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Edoardo Corradi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Corradi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
