Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Bartkowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mads Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mads Andersen!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andersen clinches with his opponent.
Bartkowski prevents a takedown attempt there.
Andersen has Bartkowski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bartkowski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Andersen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Bartkowski is fighting off a takedown attempt but Andersen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bartkowski to the mat. Bartkowski regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Bartkowski is looking to stand up but Andersen isn't so interested in that idea.
Andersen controls from within his opponent's guard.
Andersen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mads Andersen wasn't active enough on the ground.
Andersen goes for a double leg but Bartkowski avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bartkowski continues to drive forward.
Igor Bartkowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mads Andersen.
Andersen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Andersen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Andersen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Andersen ducks under a wild hook from Bartkowski.
Bartkowski looks to land a combination but Andersen avoids it well.
Bartkowski throws a lazy head kick
and Andersen counters with a slapping leg kick.

Andersen tries to clinch there but Bartkowski circles away.

Oooooh!!! Bartkowski has knocked Andersen down with a huge combo! Bartkowski steps away and waves a wobbly Andersen back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Mads Andersen has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bartkowski slaps away a takedown attempt from Andersen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Bartkowski. Those never looked like landing.
Andersen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Andersen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bartkowski to the ground. Andersen is now in Bartkowski's guard.

Andersen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mads Andersen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bartkowski lands a head shot.
Andersen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Andersen swings for the body but Bartkowski moves out of range.
Igor Bartkowski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Andersen is defended easily by Bartkowski.
Bartkowski throws a nice looking combination but Andersen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Andersen gets a clinch.
Bartkowski fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Andersen.
Andersen is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Andersen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Andersen misses with a takedown attempt - Bartkowski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Andersen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Andersen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bartkowski sprawls well. Bartkowski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Andersen gets slowly back to his feet.
Andersen looks winded!
Bartkowski stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andersen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bartkowski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Andersen somewhat.

No joy there for Bartkowski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Andersen fails with the takedown.

Bartkowski is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Andersen cracks Bartkowski with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bartkowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Andersen on the ground.
Andersen lands with some strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bartkowski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bartkowski tries to get out of the position.
You get the feeling that Bartkowski really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mads Andersen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Andersen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bartkowski tries to avoid it but Andersen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bartkowski to the ground. Bartkowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Andersen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Andersen doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Bartkowski is looking to pass into half guard but Andersen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Andersen is in guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mads Andersen.

Andersen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bartkowski counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.


That has opened up Mads Andersen's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bartkowski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Andersen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Igor Bartkowski.
I think Bartkowski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
