Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gigantor Ubereem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ubereem has chosen - as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gigantor Ubereem!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ubereem scores with a jab. James acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

James manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ubereem on his heels. He'll look to pass Ubereem's guard now, I'm sure.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
James postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
James throws a strike but Ubereem rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Ubereem is looking to slow James down with leg kicks.

James throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ubereem was covering up waiting for the punch and James finishes the takedown easily into guard.

James is working Ubereem over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Ubereem is looking for a triangle but James pushes his legs off easily.

James throws a strike but Ubereem rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

James seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ubereem has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

James wants the takedown. Ubereem is fighting it off but James persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ubereem's guard against the cage.

James manages to escape and get back to his feet.

James fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ubereem sprawls well initially but James persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

James seems to be working for a kimura but Ubereem defends the submission attempt.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James moves out of range as Ubereem strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ubereem comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A punch combination from James misses.

and James counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex James dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

James darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting James here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

James is looking for a kimura but Ubereem is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.
James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A telegraphed right hand from Ubereem misses the target.

James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ubereem, who protects the arm well.

It looks like Gigantor Ubereem has been cut.

Ubereem is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ubereem is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?
James loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Ubereem scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from James land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. James stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex James!
An out of breath Alex James thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
