Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Alzate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyril Makarenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cyril Makarenko!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzate fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alzate looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Alzate waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Makarenko.
A solid body kick from Alzate.
Makarenko misses with a hook.
Alzate misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alzate tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Makarenko is able to avoid easily.
Makarenko is looking to land body kicks.
A combination from Alzate does no damage.
Makarenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alzate lands with a straight right. Makarenko didn't see that one coming.
Alzate tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Makarenko is able to avoid easily.
Alzate fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Makarenko tries to move into range but Alzate moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Alzate does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Alzate takes a swing at Makarenko's ribcage but misses.
Alzate uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Makarenko.
Makarenko moves out of range of the body kick from Alzate.
Makarenko misses the jab.

A telegraphed right hand from Alzate misses the target.
Alzate tries a head kick but it misses.
Makarenko avoids the body shot from Alzate.
Alzate throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Makarenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alzate.
Alzate throws a leg kick but Makarenko checks it.
Alzate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Makarenko is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alzate ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Makarenko delivers a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alzate looks to throw the jab but Makarenko is out of range.
Makarenko scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Alzate is breathing heavily.

Makarenko throws out a loose jab but Alzate uses good head movement to avoid it.
Makarenko just misses with a punch to the body.
Makarenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Makarenko throws a lazy right hand but Alzate sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A thudding body kick lands there by Makarenko!
Makarenko moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Makarenko throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Makarenko looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Alzate with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Makarenko to score with a decent uppercut.
Makarenko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Makarenko lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Makarenko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Alzate.
Makarenko lands a left and a right that send Alzate crashing to the mat, dazed. Makarenko thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Niko Alzate has been cut.
Alzate keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Makarenko.
Makarenko misses with a straight left.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circle, before Makarenko throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Alzate's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Makarenko lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
