2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Bishop! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bishop throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Damozzi avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've been hearing reports that Damozzi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Bishop connects with a single shot there. Bishop throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ryan Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Damozzi throws a low kick, looking for Bishop's leg but Bishop calmly moves out of range. Bishop throws out a loose jab but Damozzi uses good head movement to avoid it. Bishop looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bishop misses with a hook. Damozzi ducked under it nicely. Bishop throws a right and a left that both miss. Good work by Bishop as he checks the leg kick. Damozzi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Bishop is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Damozzi. Damozzi dodges the punch combination from Bishop.
This has been an exciting period of action! Bishop checks a low kick from Damozzi. Damozzi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Damozzi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bishop. Bishop throws a looping overhand right but Damozzi ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop misses with a looping right. Damozzi tried to score with a low kick but Bishop checks it. Bishop misses with a two punch combination.
Damozzi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bishop. Bishop throws a hook but Damozzi blocks it. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bishop enables Damozzi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bishop manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Damozzi chips away with some ground and pound. Damozzi trying to control but Bishop is working from the bottom. Damozzi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Damozzi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bishop's head. Damozzi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Damozzi throwing strikes but missing. Damozzi passes Bishop's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Damozzi works his foot free and advances to mount. Damozzi working Bishop over with strikes here. Damozzi with good strikes from the mount here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bishop in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Damozzi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bishop is looking to escape. Damozzi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Damozzi putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Bishop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Damozzi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Damozzi controlling from the full mount. Damozzi working away from the top, dropping strikes. BOOM! Damozzi connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Damozzi raining down hammerfists from mount. Damozzi cracks Bishop with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Damozzi landing punches. Damozzi lands a big shot there that rocks Bishop but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Damozzi is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Bishop goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Damozzi!
