The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stewart connects with a high kick.
Stewart lands a leg kick that knocks Valdis off balance momentarily.
Stewart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stewart wants it to stay on the feet.

Valdis pushes Stewart up against the cage in a clinch.
Valdis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Valdis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Nice body punch from Valdis - that landed with a thud.
Stewart jumps guard but Valdis stands there with Stewart around his waist. Stewart gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marquis Stewart.
Well Valdis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
