The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weiss looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Trish!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Trish bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Trish.
Weiss has a takedown stuffed.
Weiss takes one on the button.
Trish misses with a jab, cross combination.
Trish throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Weiss.
A head kick misses from Weiss.
Weiss gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Trish counters with a nice double leg into side control. Weiss won't be happy with that.

Trish lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Weiss knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trish on the ground.
Weiss gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trish jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Weiss is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Weiss and Trish has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Trish decides to stand back up. Trish steps back and let's Weiss get back to his feet.
