Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird looks to clinch
and Maynard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bird fails with an attempt to clinch.
A head kick by Bird misses
and Maynard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bird uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maynard.
Maynard throws a body punch but Bird moves out of range.
Maynard stuns Bird with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bird looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A low kick from Maynard misses
and Bird counters by moving into the clinch.
Maynard tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bird's elbow.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Maynard takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Bird has had enough of the clinch but Maynard keeps him there for the moment.
Maynard pushes Bird back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Maynard scores with a shoulder strike.
Maynard just leaning against Bird, taking a breather.
Bird wants to take the fight to the mat but Maynard manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Maynard lands with a light punch inside.
Maynard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been told by Maynard's head coaches at Team Nakkikoppiheijari that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Maynard misses with a jab to the body
and Bird counters with a good low kick that Maynard was not able to check.
Bird wants to clinch.
Maynard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bird.
Bird has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Maynard.
Maynard connects with a jab.
Maynard scores with a shot to the body.

Bird is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Maynard just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Bird has gone limp and this one is over!
