Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julian Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kane Yamada was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Knight! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
37 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Kane Yamada! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamada throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A looping hook to the body misses from Yamada. Knight does a little dance to reset his feet. A decent looking cross lands there for Knight. Yamada fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knight manages to avoid it. A big left from Knight misses. Yamada misses with a straight right. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Knight, as that shot connected.
Knight uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Yamada. Yamada swings away with a leg kick that misses. Knight bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yamada's head. Yamada tries to close the distance and clinch up but Knight swats him away and circles back towards the center. A looping hook to the body misses from Knight. Yamada does a little dance to reset his feet. Yamada gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yamada misses with an uppercut
and Knight counters with a single leg into guard. Yamada didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yamada is trying to keep Knight in close.
Knight lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knight trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Knight throws a strike but Yamada rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Knight looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight tries to bench press Yamada off him but Yamada keeps the position. Yamada decides to stand up, so the ref orders Knight to his feet. Knight walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yamada. Yamada lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Knight backs up against the cage.
It looks like Julian Knight has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yamada is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Knight. Yamada looks to land a body kick but Knight moved away. Yamada throws a right hand that Knight ducks under and follows up with a left that Knight also avoids with ease. Yamada lands with a thumping leg kick.
Yamada scores with a punch to the head. Knight motions for Yamada to come forward. Knight throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Knight loads up on a big right hand but Yamada slips the punch. Good exchange - Yamada coming out on top. Knight uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Yamada. A low kick from Knight is predictable there and Yamada counters with a lovely straight right hand! Knight shoots for a takedown but Yamada saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Yamada chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Knight can pounce on him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yamada takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Yamada looks to score with a jab to the body but Knight is just out of range. Knight scores with a decent looking hook. Kane Yamada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yamada uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knight.
Yamada thumps Knight with a low kick. Knight does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Yamada cracks Knight with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Knight throws a half hearted mid kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yamada cracks a nice hook into Knight's ribs. Yamada throws a front kick aimed at Knight's knee but Knight avoids it well. Yamada works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kane Yamada dominated that round. The cut man is working on Julian Knight's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A jab from Knight finds it's way through Yamada's defenses. Knight throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yamada on the side of the head. Yamada throws a lazy head kick and Knight counters with a takedown into side control. Yamada felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Knight working the strikes but Yamada uses the opportunity to regain half guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Yamada. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Yamada trying to control from the bottom.
Yamada is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Knight is staying active. Yamada desperately trying to maintain half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Knight looks to land a strike but Yamada avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Knight's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Yamada working a defensive guard here.
Knight trying to control but Yamada is working from the bottom. Knight in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Yamada has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Yamada controls Knight momentarily but Knight frees himself.
Kane Yamada has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Yamada throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Knight dives in and grabs Yamada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yamada pushes down on Knight's head and hops out. Knight takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Knight tries to land a front kick but Yamada steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Knight throws a body punch but Yamada moves out of range.

Knight connects with a good right hand that stumbles Yamada. Yamada circles away out of range and recomposes himself. A looping hook to the body misses from Yamada. Knight does a little dance to reset his feet. Knight lands with an uppercut that bounces Yamada off the cage and back into range. Yamada fails in his attempt to clinch. Knight walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Yamada tries to clinch but Knight moves out of range. Nice shot lands for Yamada. Yamada digs a good hook to Knight's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yamada throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Yamada tries to bum rush Knight with a series of wild strikes but Knight uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamada misses with a left hand and Knight counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Knight throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Yamada wants to control but Knight is keeping busy.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julian Knight will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Julian Knight's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Knight slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Knight is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Knight trying to keep a closed guard but Yamada is proving a slippery customer.

Knight bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yamada's guard. Yamada controlling Knight's posture. Yamada wants to sweep but no luck. Yamada is trying to keep Knight in close.

Knight is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Yamada forces his way into half guard. Yamada wants to stand but Knight has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Knight trying to control here.

Julian Knight overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yamada pulls Knight in to control the position. Knight wants to control from the top but Yamada keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Knight throws an elbow that misses. Yamada uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Knight's guard. Nice move by Yamada! Knight looking for a sweep. Not yet Knight, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight keeping full guard, as Yamada tries to pass. Yamada won't allow Knight to sweep him here. Knight wants to hit a switch here but Yamada passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Knight there! Knight really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight is working hard here to advance position. Yamada avoids the attempt from Knight to control. Yamada prevents Knight from getting the reversal. Knight manages to regain half guard. Good work. Yamada seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Knight tries to roll over but Yamada keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. It looks like Yamada is going to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Knight moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Yamada preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Knight throws a looping overhand right but Yamada ducks down to avoid it. Knight scores with a kick to the midsection. Yamada swings for the body but Knight moves out of range.

Kane Yamada seems to be getting the better of the standup. A low kick from Yamada misses and Knight counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Knight throwing strikes from guard but Yamada blocks nicely. Yamada is pulling down on Knight's head to control his posture. Knight throws a big right hand that misses. Knight is looking to advance position but Yamada has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Knight reaches up to try and control the position but Yamada seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Knight rolls and tries to escape and now Yamada has his back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knight prevents Yamada from getting a body triangle. Knight is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
