Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bradley Nowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nowell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Doin Time kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bradley Nowell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Carl Burns's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bradley Nowell!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nowell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nowell moves out of range as Burns strikes.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nowell as he avoids it easily.
The fighters circling - Nowell throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nowell connects with a solid leg kick.
Burns attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

It looks like Carl Burns has been cut.

Burns closes the distance and clinches up with Nowell, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes Nowell against the cage but Nowell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nowell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Burns backs up against the cage.

Burns darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Nowell works his way to full guard. Good work.
Nowell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Burns slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Nowell regains half guard, as Burns was trying to land strikes.
Nowell wants to control but Burns is keeping busy.

Nowell is trying to hold Burns in close to prevent damage but Burns has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nowell wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.

Nowell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Burns backs up against the cage.
Nowell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burns throws out a loose jab but Nowell uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nowell moves out of range of the leg kick from Burns.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Burns crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nowell - the referee stops the clock and Burns gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nowell. Burns manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Burns's corner calls for a 1-2. Burns obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Burns will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Nowell is desperately trying to improve his position but Burns has a good base and remains in mount.
Nowell takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Burns's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
