Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Genki Dama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. London Calling kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Genki Dama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Silik Hunt! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunt finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hunt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dama moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A telegraphed right hand from Hunt misses the target. Dama slips a jab from Hunt. Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silik Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunt throws the left hand but Dama avoids the punch easily. Dama throws a right and a left that both miss. Dama looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Hunt. Dama does a little dance to reset his feet. Dama looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A cross from Hunt lands. Hunt lands a lovely overhand right. Hunt swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dama. Hunt throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt misses with a head kick.
Hunt misses with a straight right. A good leg kick by Hunt. Hunt looks to land a left hand but Dama moved out of range nicely. Hunt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. A left lands for Hunt. Hunt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dama circles away quickly and effectively. Hunt lands with a cross. Hunt gets caught napping as Dama dives in and scores a takedown. Hunt manages to retain guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dama preventing the sweep. Hunt is pulling down on Dama's head. It's preventing any offense from Dama, at least for the moment. Hunt keeping full guard, as Dama tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hunt is trying to keep Dama in close.
Hunt is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Silik Hunt has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hunt throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dama makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hunt really felt that one! Dama takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hunt cracks Dama with a right hand to the side of the head. Dama scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dama prevents Hunt from improving his position. Hunt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dama. Dama trying to control from half guard but Hunt is working away. Dama is looking to advance position but Hunt won't allow it. Dama stalling away here and it's allowed Hunt to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Hunt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dama pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hunt is keeping the position for now. Dama stopping the sweep attempt from Hunt. Dama passes Hunt's right leg, so he's now in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dama not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Silik Hunt dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dama misses with a lunging right hand
and Hunt counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hunt is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Dama moves forwards but Hunt connects with a nice, crisp jab. Hunt throws a right and a left that Dama avoids nicely. Dama misses the jab. Dama slips under a jab from Hunt. Hunt misses the shot to the body. Dama takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Dama blocks a leg kick. Dama on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Silik Hunt seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hunt will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dama chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hunt can pounce on him.
Hunt with a hook. Hunt has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dama walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Hunt throws a nice outside leg kick. A big right from Hunt misses. An inside leg kick lands from Hunt. Dama throws a head kick that half lands.
Dama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Dama goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hunt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dama's guard! Nice work there by Hunt! Dama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dama wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Hunt wants to control from the top but Dama keeps moving. Hunt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hunt works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hunt content to control rather than advance.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Silik Hunt hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hunt fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dama tries to bum rush Hunt with a series of wild strikes but Hunt uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dama's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hunt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dama scrambles back to his feet. Dama is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hunt missing with a left hand there. Dama was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hunt misses with an uppercut. Dama moves out of range of the strikes. Hunt goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Dama staying out of range there. Hunt lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Silik Hunt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dama gets a double leg takedown into Hunt's guard. Hunt looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hunt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dama is looking to work some ground and pound but Hunt has wrist control. Dama is fighting to break Hunt's control of his arms but Hunt is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Dama throws a big elbow that misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dama trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dama is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hunt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Silik Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Hunt throws a nice outside leg kick. Hunt throws a leg kick but Dama checks it. Hunt misses with a leg kick and Dama counters with a single leg into guard. Hunt didn't expect that. Dama throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hunt works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dama wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving. Hunt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dama is one step ahead there. Hunt trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dama trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dama trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom. Hunt lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dama! Hunt wants to control the pace but Dama is squirming around nicely. Dama tries to reverse the position but Hunt maintains control. Dama is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunt controlling the position easily from mount. Dama is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hunt controlling his opponent. Dama is desperately trying to improve his position but Hunt has a good base and remains in mount. Hunt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Dama can't escape the position.
Dama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunt trying to control but Dama is having none of it. Hunt controlling the position easily from mount.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Silik Hunt hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A low kick from Hunt misses and Dama counters with a nice body kick. Dama on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Dama rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hunt counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hunt scores with a jab. Dama acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Silik Hunt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunt shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dama eats them both and turns towards Hunt to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Hunt throws out a loose jab but Dama uses good head movement to avoid it. Genki Dama has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hunt misses with a straight right. Hunt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dama throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dama postures up in Hunt's guard and throws a big left but Hunt blocks it. Hunt tries to land a sweep but no joy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dama distracts Hunt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dama throwing strikes but missing.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Genki Dama. I think Hunt has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
