Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Corrida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corrida has chosen Shadowhunter as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Juan Corrida!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott lands with a kick to the temple. Corrida shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Corrida fails with a takedown attempt.
Abbott shoots in but no luck this time.
Corrida misses with a looping right.
Abbott looks to land a body kick but Corrida moved away.
Corrida motions for Abbott to come forward. Corrida throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Abbott fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Corrida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Corrida misses the shot to the body.
Abbott lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A solid leg kick lands there for Abbott.
Corrida shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That kick from Abbott tenderised Corrida's leg. Corrida is trying to keep his angry face on.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Corrida closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Corrida throws an elbow but Abbott slips to the side and avoids it well.
Corrida tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Abbott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

I really don't envy Corrida right now.

You can see the frustration on Corrida's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Abbott has the hooks in. Corrida is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Abbott lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Abbott lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Abbott.
Corrida is in bad spot here.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Abbott.
Abbott takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abbott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Corrida. That did some damage!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Abbott connects with a nice short shot to Corrida's temple.

Abbott is nestled in close to Corrida, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Corrida isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Abbott stacks Corrida on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Abbott!
