PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Machine Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Blanca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cannon comes to the cage accompanied by Fall out boy - Light em up. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Machine Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charlie Blanca!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon tries to close the distance and clinch but Blanca swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Blanca slips a jab from Cannon.
Cannon throws a jab but it's blocked by Blanca.
Cannon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Cannon misses with a short punch on the inside.
Cannon is trying to push Blanca away but Blanca has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Blanca lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cannon backwards.
It looks like Machine Cannon has been cut.
Blanca makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Cannon misses with the head strike.
Blanca's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cannon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Blanca manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cannon blocks a jab.
Blanca misses with an uppercut.
Cannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Blanca.
Cannon moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cannon misses with an uppercut
and Blanca counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blanca looks to land a left hand but Cannon moved out of range nicely.
Cannon misses with a looping left.
Blanca jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A big left from Blanca misses.
Good exchange - Cannon coming out on top.
Blanca lands a big right hand that sends Cannon crashing to the mat! Blanca stays standing though and waves Cannon back to his feet!
Cannon is rocked!
Machine Cannon's cut is getting worse.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Blanca gets tackled into the cage by Cannon. Cannon maintains the clinch.
Oh Cannon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blanca pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cannon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Blanca manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Blanca tries to keep at a distance but Cannon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cannon seems to have got his legs back now.
Blanca is stalling here.
Cannon lands a nice shot to the body.
Blanca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cannon lands with a hook. Blanca tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Cannon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blanca throws a hook to the side of Cannon's head but Cannon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blanca wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Blanca waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cannon.
Blanca jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Blanca lands a left and a right that send Cannon crashing to the mat, dazed. Blanca thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Cannon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cannon moves into the clinch successfully.
Blanca blocks an uppercut.
Blanca misses with a hook from the clinch.
Blanca swings wildly with an uppercut but Cannon uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blanca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cannon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Blanca doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cannon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blanca in his tracks.
Cannon lands a jab to the head.
Cannon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blanca swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cannon misses with a straight right.
Blanca sends Cannon crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Blanca is motioning to the referee to let Cannon up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Machine Cannon's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Blanca lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cannon at a distance.
Cannon is breathing heavily.
Blanca throws a pinpoint strike between Cannon's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Cannon crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Blanca scores a great knockout victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charlie Blanca!
