Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trent Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Lundin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent Allen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cody Lundin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Lundin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Allen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lundin doesn't seem bothered though. Allen connects with a nice looking jab.
Allen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Allen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lundin. Allen slips a jab from Lundin. Lundin cracks the inside of Allen's front leg. Lundin lands a really nice looking cross but Allen seems unphased.
Lundin checks a low kick from Allen. Allen avoids the head kick by Lundin.
Lundin walks into a stiff left hand from Allen. Allen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Allen swings for the body but Lundin moves out of range.
Allen scores with a jab. Allen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lundin takes a swing at Allen's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lundin throws the kick towards the body but Allen avoids it. Lundin checks the leg kick. Allen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Lundin looks to throw the jab but Allen is out of range. Lundin misses the shot to the body. Lundin digs a good body shot into Allen's ribs. A punch combination from Allen misses. Lundin lands with a kick to the ribs.

Lundin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Lundin avoids the body shot from Allen.
Allen checks a low kick from Lundin. Lundin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Allen shoots in and drives through. Lundin sprawls well. Lundin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Allen's head backwards. Lundin looks for the body kick but Allen saw that one coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Allen!
Allen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lundin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Allen avoids a kick to the body.
Allen misses the shot to the body. Allen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lundin. A jab from Allen finds it's way through Lundin's defenses. Lundin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Lundin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Allen is trying is best to control the position here. Lundin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lundin. Allen trying to control but Lundin postures up.
Lundin wants to advance to full mount but Allen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Allen pulls Lundin in close to his closed guard and prevents Lundin from doing any damage or advancing position. Allen controls Lundin momentarily but Lundin frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen has Lundin pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Trent Allen just wasn't active enough. Allen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lundin. Lundin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Allen swats him away and circles back towards the center. A swing and a miss from Lundin. Lundin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Allen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A close round but Cody Lundin will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lundin lunges at Allen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Allen's hand. Allen scores with a jab. Allen misses with a two punch combination.
Allen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lundin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lundin throws a leg kick which misses Allen's front leg but catches the back leg as Allen tries to avoid it. Allen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Allen takes a swing at Lundin's ribcage but misses. Allen moves away from the strike by Lundin. Lundin fails with the takedown. Lundin misses with a leg kick. Allen misses with a hook. Lundin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Allen's calf. Allen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Allen dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Allen misses the shot to the body. Lundin throws a low kick but Allen avoids it. An inside leg kick lands from Lundin. Allen swings for the body but Lundin moves out of range.
Lundin tries to clinch but Allen is having none of it. Lundin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Allen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lundin is in Allen's guard. Allen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lundin throwing strikes from guard but Allen blocks nicely. Lundin chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lundin throws a big elbow that misses. Allen is trying to hold Lundin in close to prevent damage but Lundin has managed to pass into half guard.
Lundin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lundin is pressing down on Allen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Allen is holding on for now. This has been an exciting period of action! Allen is not content to let Lundin control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lundin is looking to advance position but Allen won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lundin is looking to take a break and control but Allen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lundin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Allen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Allen trying to hold on to Lundin's head to control him but Lundin postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lundin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Allen. Allen tries to bum rush Lundin with a series of wild strikes but Lundin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lundin looks to land a right hand but Allen moved out of range. Allen closes the distance and clinches. Lundin tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Lundin misses with a hook from the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A head punch on the inside from Lundin fails to land. Lundin misses with a punch to the body.

Cody Lundin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Lundin with a body punch. A glancing blow. Lundin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Allen is looking to wear down Lundin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Nice body punch from Allen. Allen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lundin. Lundin misses with a double jab.

Allen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lundin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Allen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lundin is pulling down on Allen's head to control his posture. Lundin keeping moving, preventing Allen from controlling successfully. Lundin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lundin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cody Lundin has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lundin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Allen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lundin looking for a sweep. Not yet Lundin, not yet. Trent Allen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lundin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lundin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Allen throws an elbow that misses. Lundin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Allen's guard. Nice move by Lundin! Lundin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Allen's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lundin throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lundin is trying to control the position but Allen postures up. Allen wants to pass the guard but Lundin is keeping the position. Lundin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Allen trying to control but Lundin is working from the bottom. Lundin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cody Lundin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trent Allen. Well Lundin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
