Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald Rousey! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rousey slips under a jab. Ronald Rousey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Woods gets caught napping as Rousey dives in and scores a takedown. Woods manages to retain guard. Rousey throwing strikes but missing. Woods keeping full guard, as Rousey tries to pass. Woods is pulling down on Rousey's head to control his posture. Rousey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rousey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woods pulls Rousey in close to his closed guard and prevents Rousey from doing any damage or advancing position. Rousey showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rousey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woods swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods wants to stand but Rousey is controlling the position. Rousey throws a big elbow that misses. Woods is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Carl Woods just wasn't active enough. Rousey tries to clinch up. Woods misses with a body shot.
Woods stuffs the takedown. Rousey looks to land a body kick but Woods moved away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rousey throws a head kick that misses. Woods misses the shot to the body. Woods misses with a wild body shot. Woods throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rousey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rousey shoots in and drives through. Woods sprawls well. Rousey closes the distance looking to clinch and Woods makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rousey is looking to chop away at Woods's legs. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rousey. Rousey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Woods. Nice takedown defense from Woods. No joy for Rousey on that attempt. Carl Woods has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronald Rousey. Woods looks to score with a jab to the body but Rousey is just out of range. Rousey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Woods circles away. Woods swings for the body but Rousey moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rousey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Woods in his tracks. A momentary lapse in concentration from Woods enables Rousey to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Woods manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Woods wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Woods knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rousey on the ground. Rousey trying to control but Woods is working from the bottom. Woods seems keen to control Rousey's posture. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

A close round but Ronald Rousey will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rousey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Woods pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Rousey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woods pinned against the cage. Woods gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rousey fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Woods avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woods cracks Rousey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Ronald Rousey has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods moves out of range as Rousey throws a body kick.
Rousey lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Woods at a distance.
We've been told by Woods's head coaches at Wrecking Crew Elite MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Woods dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rousey throws a head kick that misses. Woods with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rousey to score with a decent uppercut. Donk. Woods catches Rousey right on the button with a cross. Rousey fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab from Woods does it's job there. Carl Woods is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Woods misses with a wild body shot. Rousey takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Rousey tries for a takedown but Woods sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Woods punishes Rousey's body with a nice straight punch. Woods looks to score with a jab to the body but Rousey is just out of range. Rousey throws a leg kick that misses. Carl Woods is winning the standup battle so far. Rousey blocks a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Rousey looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rousey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rousey tries to land a front kick but Woods steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Woods keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rousey. Rousey shoots in and gets a takedown into Woods's guard. Rousey is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rousey is looking to work some ground and pound but Woods has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods has his hands on Rousey's head, controlling the position. Woods keeping full guard, as Rousey tries to pass. Rousey keeps trying to improve his position. Rousey being controlled here momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Carl Woods wasn't doing enough on the ground. Woods swings and misses with a shot to the body and Rousey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rousey pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Woods is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woods comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rousey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Woods tries to avoid it but Rousey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Woods to the ground. Woods escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Woods lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rousey circles away quickly and effectively. Woods moves out of range of the strikes. Woods misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rousey takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rousey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Woods but Woods pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rousey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Woods as he avoids it easily. Rousey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rousey moves away from the strike by Woods. Rousey dives in and grabs Woods's left leg, looking for a takedown. Woods pushes down on Rousey's head and hops out. Rousey pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rousey tries to close the distance and clinch but Woods swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A looping hook to the body misses from Rousey. Woods does a little dance to reset his feet. Rousey takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Rousey shoots in and drives through. Woods sprawls well. Rousey lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rousey throws the kick towards the body but Woods avoids it. Woods avoids a kick to the body.
Rousey lands a head shot.
And that's the end of the fight! Carl Woods showed his dominance in that final round. I think Woods has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
